I grew up in Drogheda for over 18 years so naturally i am totally biased as this is a very historic town and the river Boyne has been within reach since childhood with places like Baltray, Terminfechin and Clougherhead memorable haunts. The reason for staying at the D was convenient for all of my family members to visit. My usual place to sstay when "HOME" is with my sister but unfortunately she can no longer drive.

Drogheda is an historical town set between Dublin and Dundalk on the east coast of Ireland. It has a mainline station and a busy bus station providing connections to the main cities, regional centres and local places. The town is busy with plenty of places to eat, meet friends and have coffee. People are welcoming and interested in stories from abroad (in my case, London) and also like hearing what is going on up the coast (Dundalk) and in Dublin. There are some great 'curiosities' in Drogheda (historical sites & quaint shops) and most of all it's a stone's throw from Dublin, making it a convenient place for international travel and further exploration of particularly the east coast of Ireland. Because it's not Dublin, the cost of accommodation is considerably more economical, with a slightly more laid-back feel and good efficiency. I particularly liked the buses and even got a free ride when I got on the wrong one (something which rarely happens to me in London!).

The garden apartment was excellent . We travel to the area 2-3 times a year to visit family and it is the best place we have stayed in. The interior is very high quality with super comfy beds and the outside area has a wonderful atmosphere. It was lovely to arrive to a few treats and enough to start us off for a few days with milk, juice and plenty of tea and coffee. We even had little bags of toiletries. This is a very special place and it was a pleasure to stay in this accommodation for a few days.

On arrival you were brought to your room which is furnished with a small kitchen. There was some cereals and tea in the kitchen which you could enjoy following your journey. There was a bathroom and shower in the room and more facilities downstairs which meant that two people could get ready at the same time. The room was clean, practical and it was better than a hotel because you could prepare some snacks for you and your friends.

Listoke House is beautiful place to stay, with everything just as you would wish it to be. But the hosts really make this an exceptional place. Raymond in particular looked after us, and ensured that we knew the best spots to visit in and around Drogheda while entertaining us with a few tales. Make sure that you ask about the house’s founder!

Comfortable B&B outside the business area of Drogheda. Chose this location for our last night in Ireland and it’s close proximity to Dublin Airport. Maya gave a good overview of our room and its features. Several options available for breakfast, along with a breakfast bar of packaged croissants, yogurts, fresh fruit, cereals and breads.

The property is beautiful and Michelle was so welcoming when we got there. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. The next morning Arthur had a great continental breakfast for us that even included stewed plums that he did himself… they were delicious!!! Don’t hesitate to stay here , you won’t regret it!!!

This is a wonderful hotel. We needed to be close to Dublin Airport for our next-day flight and this was only a 20 minute drive. The room was so comfortable and the hotel itself is very charming. The restaurant is OUTSTANDING! We had dinner and breakfast and both were among the best meals of our trip.
