A Hidden Gem Along the Irish Coast

A Hidden Gem Along the Irish Coast Kilkee is a hidden gem along the Irish coast that never fails to surprise and enchant. During our visit to Kilkee, we were captivated by its breathtaking natural beauty. The majestic cliffs, golden beaches, and crystal-clear blue sea create a postcard-perfect setting that is hard to forget. But Kilkee is much more than just a picturesque landscape. It is a welcoming and vibrant community, rich in history, culture, and local charm. We spent hours exploring the quaint streets of the town center, stopping to enjoy delicious meals in its cozy cafes and restaurants. Furthermore, outdoor activities abound in Kilkee. We had the opportunity to hike along the stunning coastal trails, explore sea caves, and even take a refreshing swim in the crystal-clear waters of the bay. But what truly sets Kilkee apart is the relaxed and authentic atmosphere that permeates every corner of the town. Whether you're seeking adventure or simply tranquility, Kilkee offers something for everyone. In conclusion, we highly recommend Kilkee to anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable getaway along the Irish coast. With its breathtaking landscape, rich culture, and warm hospitality, Kilkee is a place that will stay in the hearts of anyone fortunate enough to visit.

Gorgeous beaches loved that you could walk along the cliffs safely and easily for a 1.5 mile walk each direction right from town. Town looks a bit in disrepair at times. Our accommodation was great with wonderful service including the restaurant below it. Parking was easy.

The beach is gorgeous, as are the cliff walks and views.

The beach is gorgeous, as are the cliff walks and views. Restaurants were fine. Unfortunately we couldn't find any postcards, couldn't rent any bicycles (nearest bike hire was miles away), and the 'tourist office ' was not only shut down but in a very sad state of disrepair. Also, no one seemed to know where Charlotte Bronte honeymooned!! We found it easily though (there's a plaque).

Lovely bed & breakfast in a quiet location in the countryside on top of a hill as the name implies. Very friendly host who made sure we had everything we needed. You could tell that the owners take pride in the house. We had two rooms and one of them had a magnificent panoramic view of the valley and ocean. Rooms were small but very nice. Good shower. Best Irish breakfast we have had on our Ireland trip so far! Cereal and other options were available as well. Tea and instant coffee available all day. Highly recommended!

This place is in a very quiet and picturesque part of Ireland, with lots of local history. Our host Teresa was very capable and helpful, she had good local knowledge suggesting places to see and helped us find a friendly local bar, (Foley's). There was plenty of parking and our room was ground floor, very clean and comfortable. We had a large, spotless, private bathroom, a choice of bath, or walk in shower and plenty of towels. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty with as much tea or coffee as we wanted.

There was no breakfast. We paid an outrageous price of €600 for 2 nights for 2 rooms on a room only basis. It was worth no more than €80 per night given the basic level of accommodation offered and no breakfast facilities whatsoever. Hotel is old and musty, shower was very weak and we had to be moved to another room when we arrived because the bed was so small. Location is good but not enough to ever warrant another stay here. Grossly inflated prices for sub zero quality. Never again

Hosts were extremely helpful. Helen even lent us some rain gear and arranged for Joe McCab to take us to Loophead Lighthouse. Breakfast was delightful, Helen cooks a delicious omelette!!! B&B is directly across the street from the bus stop in Kilkee. Location was perfect, just up from the beautiful beach and Cliff Walk. I would absolutely stay there again!!!
