Greenlawn Lodge, hotel in Lisdoonvarna

In tranquil, rural surroundings just a 5 minute walk from Lisdoonvarna, Greenlawn House features modern rooms with free Wi-Fi, free parking, and full Irish breakfasts.

A very modern and comfortable place with a lovely garden, nice rooms and a good breakfast. Very knowledgeable staff if you have questions about the area. We went to the Roadside Tavern based on the brochure in the room and were not disappointed. Only a short walk away with food well beyond typical pub fare and their own craft beers.

Ballinalacken Castle Country House Hotel, hotel in Lisdoonvarna

This country house hotel has a quiet location, looking out over the Cliffs of Moher, the Aran Islands and Galway Bay. It has free parking, luxury rooms and an award-winning restaurant.

OMG, what didn't I like?? We got a private tour of the family castle, the rooms were outstanding, large, comfy and super clean. And the view from our window was spectacular. Then we also had dinner there and the food was out of this world. I would give this acomodation a if I could. It was just such a wonderful experience.

We would have stayed in Doolin if we would have known there wasn’t traditional music as advertised at our hotel. It was the whole reason we stayed there and the music was in Doolin, not Lisdoonvarna. The tourist economy is extremely competitive. Tourists want to see quaint and experience attractions in the short time they are traveling through a community. It’s expensive for a city to provide those kinds of things that demanding travelers want. Perhaps a regional travel organization can increase collaboration among communities to set the stage for regional success, not just success for Doolin.

Did not explore Lisdoonvarna itself too much but it would have been worth a day or two, just too much other stuff pre-planned. Was a great base to the Burren, Doolin, Cliffs of Mohr, Aran islands ferry.

Live music at the Ritz, however all the large hotels were shut to the public as they were being used to house refugees. Absolutely no problem with that use but they surly could allow the public access to the restaurants coffee shops etc as without this there were only limited facility in the town.

Considering that it is a tourist destination, it is quiet shabby I thought. The town coucil (like many others in Clare) should consider a factfinding trip to the likes of Westport to see how a tourist town SHOULD look like. The "What would you recommend Lisdoonervarna for" sectoin is challenging "Its central position in North West Clare and the roads out of it" was not an option..

We went for the festival which we went to every year before...

We went for the festival which we went to every year before Covid and I am sorry to say it was not as it usually is. All of the hotels were closed which was a major disappointment. Thankfully the Ritz still serves great food but the Matchmaker bar which is usually excellent was closed along with a lot more. I am afraid we will not be going back and this saddens me as the festival was usually hopping.

    We loved Lisdoonvarna.

We loved Lisdoonvarna. The town is small but lively and we really enjoyed the Ritz House Hotel. First, they were very kind, with free Wi-Fi available in the bar. We had an excellent dinner there, with great food, service and atmosphere. We wished we had booked to stay there! We used the trip as a point for visiting the Aran Islands from nearby Doolin. This worked very well and we had a wonderful day out there, in the care of Doolin Ferries.

We, 2 adults and a 15 year old, stayed in the Ravine Hotel for 4 nights the first week of August 2021. We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the beds were very comfortable. Towels changed each day. Nellie and her staff were very welcoming, friendly and nothing was a problem for them. The breakfast was exceptional. We would highly recommend this hotel. Fantastic value for money and very centrally located for touring Co. Clare

Nellie was the best host we stayed with along the way. We were behind schedule on our itinerary and running late for check in, she told us “sure do it all while you’re there, I’ll be here, there’s no rush”. Such a lovely woman, we had a great conversation with her over a couple of pints. Breakfast in the morning was the best Irish breakfast we had on our travels! Great location in the heart of Lisdoonvarna.

Greeted at check in by John, who took the time to show the room and explain the amenities available. Delicious traditional Irish breakfast cooked by his wife Anne, with options for cereals, fruits, cheeses, yogurts. John also recommended the best pub in Dingle for food and music. Close to Dingle, but far enough to avoid the tour buses.
