Facilities were top notch, the extras like bread 🥪 butter, milk, jam, tea and coffee plus fresh eggs. You can have as much or as little heating as you like with the controller in the cottage. The whole place is done to a very high standard and the cleanliness is second to none, we didn't see anything that was missed.

Austin was a very gracious and most helpful host. He welcomed us and showed us around our lodging even though our plane was delayed so we arrrived later than expected. He had prepared the room for a chilly night very thoughtfully. The bed and the room were comfortable and cosy; the bathroom spacious and the shower good and easy to use. He brought us a warm, fresh-baked scones in the morning with butter, jam, good strong coffee and tea and a friendly good morning - a wonderful start to the day. All in all a perfect spot to stop the night, feel warm and welcomed and ready to explore.

I stayed here for two nights about a week apart, as part of a cycle tour. By the second night I felt as though I was visiting an old friend - such super hospitality and the kettle never far from the boil. This is an unusual. freewheeling sort of place to stay but the beds are comfy and the water is hot, and you have everything you need. If you're the sort of person who really loves hotel chains, it's not likely to be your sort of place, but for a homely, friendly and generous-spirited place to stay, I thought it was hard to beat.
