Kilronan Castle Hotel & Spa, hotel in Drumshanbo

Located just 45 minutes' drive from Sligo Airport, Kilronan Castle Hotel & Spa features an indoor swimming pool.On-site spa and a fine dining restaurant. Free WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

Myself and family went for one night but ideally you would want to spend at least two nights here. It is in a remote area so the lake and the hotel itself is really what is so lovely about Kilronan. The castle itself is gorgeous and exactly what you'd expect from the pictures online. The staff were very friendly and we asked for late checkout as we couldn't stay for two nights and they kindly let us which was great. The food was lovely myself and my son ate in the casual dining hall and there was a lot of choice which was great.

Lakeview House, hotel in Drumshanbo

Offering lake views, House Lakeview is a detached holiday home situated opposite Castlefore Lake, 2 km from Keshcarrigan village. Guests benefit from free WiFi and private parking available on site.

The property was absolutely fantastic. Very clean, bright, modern and spacious. It had anything and everything that you could imagine, as it was extremely well equipped. There were many extra touches too which we highly appreciated and welcome such as bathroom toiletries, toilet rolls, dishwasher tablets and cleaning products, with also a linen/storage cupboard to back up these supplies and plenty of extra towels and blankets if you want them. The rooms are all very spacious and the house is much bigger than it looks from the photos. Plenty of room for a couple of families to enjoy together. Really easy and quick responsive for all communication with the owners. Just an all round beauty and comfortable house with stunning views across the lake.

The area around Drumshanbo is very, very pretty. The town itself is small but hospitable and if you are interested in local history, it actually has great significance. The street are well-maintained and looks like plans are on hand to keep upgrading facilities. I visited at a quiet time but there are several watering holes and at least one very pleasant coffee shop.

beautiful location, enough activities to keep the kids entertained. The leisure and Spa facilities at lough Allen is excellent for that chilled out factor, a very quite, tranquil place not for those looking adventure.

    Quite and quaint.

Quite and quaint. Lovely walk along the canal to Leitrim village. We got to see one of the lock-gates operating. Lots of ducks along the lakes and canal. Went to visit the Arigna mines which is only a short drive away. We had a facinating guided tour by an ex- miner. Very well worth the visit.

There is a Gin distillery, unfortunately not open during our visit. Had a good visit to the Arigna coal mine, with visitor centre (under construction) and a great former miner who led us under ground and showed us how it was done only 30 years ago! There are interesting places to visit in the area such as waterfalls and lakes. Parkes castle is not far away.

The whole experience was flawless. Such a warm, cosy and wholesome stay. The space and room were clean and comfortable. The bed in particular was like a cloud. The host, Fiona was lovely and communicative. Everything you need for a stay in Drumshanbo is there. Lovely house and plenty of space. It was super easy, you collect the keys in a lock box and leave them on your departure. My partner and I didn’t want to leave we loved it that much. I plan on coming back in the summer and hope to be staying here again!

We really enjoyed our stay in the Lough Allen Lodge. The location is great, the house was very clean and well equipped. Host very patient when I got lost - in Drumshanbo!!! Any text queries were answered very quickly. Sad to see adjoining Hotel and apartments empty. Website could have made it clearer that kitchen and sitting room were up stairs.

The Old Granary was the perfect base for our family holiday, Drumshanbo has loads to offer and Sligo, Carrick-on-Shannon and Lough Key are so accessible from there. The Old Granary was a cosy peaceful haven to return to after our busy days. Maria and Nigel were helpful and friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed

Great location in the heart of Drumshanbo. Very easy to find after receiving directions by message. Walking distance from all the shops and pubs in the town but most importantly The Shed Distillery, which we had come to see. Lovely cosy furnishings and very clean property. All the essentials supplied. Great place!
