Riverbank House Bed and Breakfast Innishannon, hotel in Kilbrittain

Riverbank House Bed and Breakfast Innishannon in Inishannon provides adults-only accommodation with a garden and a shared lounge.

We spent two nights at the Riverbank House with Heather and Adam and their hospitality was one of the highlights of our trip around Ireland. The historic house is as cozy as one can be and the surroundings astounding - the views of the River Bandon and its animals provide a great scenery while having breakfast. While in the outskirts of Cork, we found Innishannon more than plenty for our needs - close to Cork, Cobh and Kinsale with restaurants close by both to dine in and take away - and a great starting point for the drive along the South Coast (Heather has a good knowledge of the area and suggestions for food and sightseeing along the way). Would recommended in a heartbeat :)

    Kilbrittain was a lovely find.

Kilbrittain was a lovely find. Small enough to be uncrowded and quiet, but close to so many things that we were wanting to see and do. The rural area can be a bit confusing if you are not familiar with it (we were not) So I would suggest a GPS or at least a very good map. We had one and got lost anyway, but found our way with the help of a friendly local. West Cork is incredibly beautiful with stunning views around every bend in the road. Inchadoney Beach is not to be missed! And a very good meal can be had at The Lifeboat Inn in the small town of Courtmacsherry- about ten miles away.

    Noreen was more than helpful.

Noreen was more than helpful. I had a few questions before we arrived and they were answered promptly and to our satisfaction. Also found that timings were extremely flexible to cater to our fishing needs, which I covered in an earlier question. This is a very nice home and you’ll be really well looked after.

The whole area was beautiful, long winding lanes along the side of the rivers. Little fishing villages with colourful cottages. We saw lots of birds including herons and oyster catchers, looking for food in the mud. We ate at Hurleys in Ballinspittle, and The Pink Elephant. Both gave us good meals which we enjoyed.
