The room was very clean, spacious, comfortable, and a great size. The host (Elaine) communicated well with us and was very lovely. Elaine was very welcoming and we really enjoyed our visit during breakfast. We enjoyed our breakfast and had a very relaxing stay. We appreciated having the little kitchen in the same building and use of the microwave.

Lots of little stores to visit.
Lots of little stores to visit. Very nice Italian restaurant to eat in. Didn’t have time to try out the restaurant next door maybe next time. Mitchelstown is central to other destinations. It’s a clean town and friendly people. Plenty of parking in the town.

A.well preserved town with a fascinating history.
A.well preserved town with a fascinating history. Excellent signage to facilitate self-guiding. Good range of eating places. Well located and easy to access.
We.ate in The Hunters Rest and had tasty, well-cooked food.
The room was like you find in a five star hotel. Accessing the terrain you pass a green field filled with deer, all in shining good condition. More than friendly and kind staff welcomed us. But the thing we will not readily forget was the breakfast: I am now searching my brain for the superlatives. Everything homemade, including the bread. The eggs from their own land. While I'm not much of a meat eater at breakfast, the home made sausage, the bacon and the pudding were a delight. Great conversation and set to be back.
My husband and I felt so at home in Ballinwillain House, we were greeted by Miriam on arrival and felt very welcome.
We had a fabulous night's sleep in the extremely comfortable bed. Everything was spotlessly clean, bright and fresh.
The breakfast was superb, served by Elaine who couldn't do enough for us.
We enjoyed a lovely chat with the Mulcahy family and discovered Miriam and I were at the same school.
We would definitely recommend this gem in Mitchelstown for your night away.
We will be back!!
Beautiful house located through a pleasant estate. We were warmly welcomed and shown to our rooms which were spacious and well equipped. The grounds have deer , hogs, goats which were lovely to see. A gentle walk into mitchelstown to eat in the Hunters Rest which was busy and staff were welcoming. Breakfast was fab with a fry as well as lots of fresh fruit and yogurts. Good coffee. Hosts were chatty and good craic.
Very friendly staff, and nice location in Mitchelstown. Nice full Irish breakfast freshly made every morning. Lovely grounds around the property with goats and cattle, and the friendly dog too. Nice peaceful place to stay within walking distance to Mitchelstown.
Very nice place to stay in Mitchelstown, it is at the edge of the town but yet it seems like it is in the country side. Fields of deer and wild boar. The house is a period house and has a lot of character and the owners are very hospitable and friendly.
A really nice countryside farmhouse B&B, although it felt more like a luxury hotel.. Room was exceptionally clean and well presented. The breakfast was wonderful. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Thoroughly loved it and will stay again..
Beautiful peaceful setting ,very comfortable room and bed .Fabulous breakfast and the staff were exceptionally friendly and like a mini tourist information office for Mitchelstown ! Will definitely recommend Ballinwillin House to our friends.
A hidden gem in the centre of Mitchelstown. Amazing breakfast and the house management were lovely people. The property is surrounded by land with many animals- deers, goats, boar etc. It was a lovely getaway from the city.
Absolutely unique and charming place! A privilege to stay at Ballinwillin. Drifted off to sleep to the sound of Mitchelstown church bells marking the hours. Even the goats are friendly! Can’t wait to return.
We love Ballinwillin House and stay there whenever we are in Ireland if we can. The hospitality is wonderful. The animals, especially the deer are spectacular, and Marley is the best dog EVER!
