This is a lovely stately period hotel. It currently undergoing refurbishment but any disruption was minimal. It looks out over the River Lee and is very peaceful. Our room was spacious and nicely furnished with a river view. Parking was free and easy to access. The Restaurant meals were of a very high standard. The included self service continental breakfast was generous but we also ordered additional cooked breakfast from the menu. Nice choices. All the staff were very helpful and professional. Highly recommend.

Honestly everything was exceptional, the welcome we received, the lovely staff, the gorgeous estate house which felt like it was ours for the weekend, the grounds, sauna, Sky Garden and of course the comfy beds. We left feeling so relaxed and are still floating on air. The blue skies and sunshine helped too!

The breakfast was lovely, and our hosts were kind enough to ask us for our preferences the evening prior and took due care to ensure that they were catered to. They offered to make a quick fruit bowl out of strawberries and blueberries for my friend. Also, in the midst of the early dinner which was really great, they made time to sit and have a good chat with us. The location is right in the middle of Skibbereen and is within 5-7 minutes walking distance when one gets off the 237 Bus from Cork City. It was a pleasant surprise when, as we were taking off, all the helping and kitchen staff came out to wave us goodbye, send us off, and let us know the directions to the Bus Stop.
This family-run hotel has a quiet location, looking out over the harbour and the mouth of the River Ilen. It has free parking, a traditional Irish pub and an award-winning seafood restaurant.

Comfortable rooms very clean and the view was beautiful. Breakfast was great.
It was great. But unless you have "sat-nav", booking.com directions won't get you there. We were using an Eirecode finder on my phone but as we got close, internet service suddenly quit. We had to telephone.

Do visit the art centre and the heritage centre, which has a largeish display about the famine, though it rather conceals the background reasons for why people were so impoverished -- ie, hundreds of years of oppression of Catholics by England. But we both learned a lot. Lough Hyne, by comparison, is not such a big deal. It may be a marine reserve, but there's very little wildlife there. A good place for swimming, however. The Church restaurant is fairly good, but very expensive, like so many restaurants in Ireland (ie, compared with London)

Skibbereen is a surprising pleasure. lovely small but varied high street, worth a wander, with variety of shops. Local Fields worth dropping in for the local produce and cakes. Lovely dinner at The Church Restaurant. Famine museum was definitely worth a visit too. Nicely done- lots of info and presented in a style where you leave sobered but not depressed!

People are very helpful and friendly, lovely shops, great farmers market with a great variety of stalls. Lots of cafes and we loved the Church Restaurant. Close proximity to coastal villages of Baltimore, Glandore, Union Hall and Castletownsend. Steeped in rich history and beautiful scenery! We loved the social life and made the most of the local pubs and restaurants. We especially liked the Church Restaurant and also had a couple of evenings in the Corner Pub.
The Saturday morning Farmers' Market was excellent, as was the range of cafes and boutique shops.
We enjoyed the Heritage Centre and the helpful genealogist helped me locate my living relatives in the town!
Within close proximity of the town are some lovely walks too.

Skibbereen town itself was okay, not many cafe options or restaurants. Grand place to pop into for a few bits. Wouldn't be a place I would stay for a break too busy. Eldon Hotel not up to Covid standards for restaurant service, no face masks or face shields on any staff, sanitizing rushed using same cloth for tables half wiped. Staff on top of each other & customers. Getting around Skibbereen a bit confusing as a lot of one way systems. Not much activity.
Perfectly clean, sometimes pet friendly places surprise you being unclean (!!) Not here, bathroom, shower, floor and.room really clean without smelling of last minute wash up that even some hotels fail.
Bed very comfortable and very quiet place.
Hardwood floor and tiles helped us keeping the dogs in check.
The room, although we didn't ask for breakfast or anything similar, was fully equipped with milk, different types of tea, butter and jam, sugar, kettle and a fridge!
Hairdryer also provided and plenty of toiletries if needed
The gardens were amazing, it felt like being in a jungle and around every bend was something new to see or enjoy. The hot tub was fantastic and as it was enclosed it could be used in any weather. Although we were less than 10 minutes from Skibbereen town it felt so secluded. The hosts couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating, the house had so many books, games and jigsaw puzzles so we got to enjoy multiple games of scrabble and the WiFi was great
Christine and her lovely family were the best hosts we could imagine. We will definitely come back the next time we come to Ireland. The cottage was very convenient and cosy. The area is absolutely beautiful and offers many opportunities for hiking, running and water sports nearby. We loved Heir Island, Cape Clear and Lough Hyne. We wish we could have stayed longer.
I only stayed for one night, as I had an appointment in the area. Having said that. I'd have been happy to stay for longer. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast items in the room meant I was completely independent. I had a good chat with the owner, who was very friendly and welcoming. All in all, a lovely experience.
Wonderful location for visiting the west of Cork. Breakfast was great and Ann and her husband were wonderful hosts. We had dinner one evening at the Eldon Hotel and to say the lady there was worth her weight in information and history is an understatement. Didn’t get her name but she was amazing.
Atlantic B&B is in a fabulous location in a quiet location in countryside, short distance from Skibbereen. Kathleen is wonderful host, friendly, warm, welcoming and knowledgeable on the area. Breakfast is a lovely choice. Would highly recommend this B&B. One of the best we have stayed in.
We stayed in Annie Mays for two nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. We ate there both nights and the meals were delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this b&b - location is right in the centre of Skibbereen. Large parking area across the road
Marguerite was our favorite hostess during our trip. She was thoughtful, gave good suggestions for our time in the area, and the breakfast was delicious. She was very flexible when we changed our arrival time at the last minute to accommodate some schedule changes.
Friendly owners, delicious breakfast, very clean rooms and the beautiful garden made our stay great. Highly recommended. If you stay here, it is easy to travel around west cork, as Skibbereen is a very nice town and on the N71 which is very handy.
We had a wonderful time at Atlantic House. Kathleen is a marvelous host and makes every effort to make her guests feel comfortable and welcome - she is also a wealth of information about the beautiful area she lives in
All buildings were very nice with a mix of classic and cheeky decor. Wonderful staff, view, rooms, lounging areas, and grounds. Dinner and breakfast were great.
The hotel is centrally located. Lovely location. The friendly staff told us what was going on in the locality (events, music etc). The room was spotless and big
