Absolutely lovely host, we immediately felt right at home. Also the property and location are amazing, it's really remote with lots of little streams, waterfalls and woods to explore. And we just fell in love with their dog Pablo

It's a very quiet little town at the moment, especially with Covid. No pubs, restaurants or shops open, but hopefully they can get up and running again shortly. Either way the Gweebara B&B was perfect! It's an ideal location in Donegal to base yourself from for a couple of days, especially for walking/hiking holidays. We stayed there after slieve league & before glenveagh + errigal. Hopefully they get to open their pub in the coming weeks and best of luck to them.

    Very remote area, stunningly beautiful.

Very remote area, stunningly beautiful. Just driving around the little roads here, I saw views there as gorgeous as I'd seen driving around Iceland. The cottage is lovely and really well set up for visitors. The biggest local town nearby is Dungloe, about a 20 minute drive. All groceries shops you'd need are there and a playground. Letterkenny is about a 30 minute drive away and is a much larger town and has everything you'd need, cinema, clothes shops, restaurants etc. Lots of things to do for kids around Letterkenny and beautiful beaches. Glenveagh National Park, Dooey beach, Portnoo beach, Oakpark House, Tropical World and Sleibh Leagh sea cliffs were all great things to visit and were within reasonable distances from the cottage.

Very beautiful but a car is recommended.

Very beautiful but a car is recommended. Scenic road winding on cliffs with wonderful views to the ocean (no 4x4 needed). Big National Park and some abandoned roads and houses. A lot of animals (sheep, horses, donkeys) nearby or seen at these roads. Famous castle in National Park. We drove through whole Ireland but this area was most beautiful.
