upon arrival and checking into our room, i was disappointed with the family room. It was grubby and cold and some of the lights / lighting did not work and it had a very unpleasant odour. So I contacted reception to let them know and they offered me two alternatives, both were smaller rooms but clean, comfortable, all the lighting worked and there was no odd smell, they smelled clean and fresh. As one of them was overlooking the harbour as per our original booking, we settled for that one. The staff on reception, Raquel and Shane were super professional and handled my matter most professionally. Later that day, we had some wine and chocolates and complimentary little cakes as a gesture from the hotel which I was very touched by.
All the staff were lovely, the pool and the spa was also lovely but we were restricted to using the pool at family times only as I was holidaying with my two teenagers. This would have been fine but it seemed all adults were also allowed to use the pool during these times so it felt a bit unfair I have to say.
I loved the location, lovely outlook over the harbour - definitely worth selecting one of those rooms and having a super view of Croagh Patrick and opportunity for a short or long walk by water on your doorstep. It was also conveniently located to the town, we walked in and out on one of the days to go to the super cinema in Westport town.
Finally, all the staff in the restaurant were fantastic, excellent menu choice for breakfast and food in the downstairs eaterie, The Coast was just superb!!! We ate so well and it felt like a personable stay - we were there for 4 nights.
I will definitely return. Thank you Raquel and Shane for your fantastic service!!

Located only a 15 minute walk into Westport city centre, Westport Heights sits on a hill in a completely quiet neighborhood with spectacular overlooks of the mountains and water. In my travel experience what makes or breaks a place is the character, personality and level of hospitality of the owners and/or staff. Owner Martha is beyond any high rating I could give in this review! If there were 100 possible points, she would get 101. She is truly an experience all by herself. Caring and committed to help in planning your sightseeing in the area and in all of County Mayo, Martha will guarantee you an exceptional experience.
If you understand what a B&B is all about, you will love Westport Heights for comfort, hospitality and location. Luxury accommodations it isn't. But the value for the price is unbeatable. Martha lays out a plentiful cold breakfast buffet and is there every morning to make sure all is well. She greets you every single morning with a smile, good humor and many helpful tips.

The Tavern Pub = AMAZING extensive, but not too much so, seasonal menu and OH SO TASTY.
Mussels, Fries, Garlic Bread and Glass of Wine - €23.00 what NOT to love about that.
Lovely scenery that showcases the reasons why Irish people are so proud to be Irish, Croagh Patrick , literally at the back door and if you're in need of a HIKE (its not easy, but it IS memorable) then this alone is one reason to visit Murrisk.... careful on the way down, it can be slippy on the shale..
Watching the sunset over Clew bay is perhaps one of the most beautiful places in Ireland to be. Drivers on irish roads are not the best, but being mindfiul of this, you can walk safely on the roads and take full advantage of all this little area has to offer. So close to Westport, busses every 2 hours from gives access to one of the most vibrant and unspoilt town in Ireland, a GEM.

One good bar-restaurant, The Tavern, excellent seafood, other pub is not so nice but has a big beer garden. Coffee horse box in Croaghpatrick car park and a community cafe, nearest shop 3km. The sea is about 1 Km walk away, a fishing pier. Bartra beach 3.5km drive, worth the effort, great dunes and scenery and wild swimming. Scenery is great in Murrisk, and it's very quiet at night, magical skies.

Beautiful coastal scenery, Clew bay is stunning and a gateway to beautiful Westport and amazing Achill Island.
Lovely food at the bright pink Tavern bar and restaurant.
Great walking, hiking, horse riding. Perfect sunsets, windy as hell!
Lovely, quiet location with beautiful views. The owner was lovely and very helpful. Great facilities and the communal living room and kitchen were spotless. Better than a hotel for comfort and space.
Hostel was like a hotel - modern, clean, new looking, spacious. Kitchen was huge with seating outside where you can enjoy the breakfast in the front of C. Patrick. No hassle parking.
