In picturesque Ballinskelligs, the 19th-century Old School House B&B is nestled between sandy beaches and stunning mountains on the Wild Atlantic Way. This guest house serves home cooked breakfasts, which are prepared using fresh, local ingredients.

Visiting SW Ireland? Stay here. You will not be disappointed. Our hosts Lillian and Dominick are some of the most lovely people we’ve ever met. We arrived as guests and left three days later as friends. Singing songs and telling stories every night of our stay was such a highlight and made our trip exponentially more enjoyable. I truly hope we are able to enjoy their company again very soon.

Overlooking Portmagee’s busy harbour, The Moorings Guesthouse is just a 30-second walk from the pier, offering elegant rooms with marble bathrooms. Some rooms feature luxurious hot tubs and king-size beds.

The staff were very kind and helpful. Our boat tour around the islands was cancelled but they managed to get us tickets for the landing tour which was even better. We had to extend our stay at the last minute but that wasn't a problem at all and we even got a better room for the same price.

The hosts were wonderful and the location was great for our purpose--to have something nearby to Portmagee for our trip to the Skelligs. The breakfast was great and the place had a cozy atmosphere.

The hostel was clean, spacious with a well equipped kitchen. We had a private room with ensuite which was excellent. The view from the hostel is spectacular. Our room was above the kitchen / dining area which was busy until about 11pm. So my kids were not sleeping till after that. Then enthusiastic hikers up at 6.30 for breakfast ( an hour before suggested quiet time finished) wasn't great. The laundry service is really worth the 8 euro. I'd definitely go back.
