Fethard is a small village but has all the basics, i.e., shop,pub, cafe ,pharmacy, takeaway. Locals were friendly. Liam gave us loads of tips on walks. The castle and motte were fine examples of the type. Fethard is a good base to explore the peninsula.

A warm welcome from our hosts including homemade brown bread and free range eggs gift pack. Stove filled with wood, ready to go. Cottage renovated to a very high spec with all modern conveniences. Cosy and warm. Hotel standard comfy beds. Local walking trail to Tintern Abbey worth checking out.
