Loved the style and decor of this home and garden, stylishly looked after by the owner but who was away at this time whilst her mother took charge. Our upstairs bedroom was beautifully-appointed and the ensuite surprisingly large and contemporary. Loved the natural light and windows which could be easily opened. Bedlinen was pure luxury on a very comfortable bed. Breakfast was a highlight --- lots to eat, individually cooked Irish breakfast and continental breakfast with delicious yogurts and fresh fruit. There are a couple of good restaurants in town, the Bay View Hotel and the Stella Maris Hotel which serve great seafood.

John, the host, was absolutely lovely and made his home feel like home right away. The house itself is stunning inside and out.

The hotel is well located, not far from Kilkee beach. Great welcome from Helen and her husband. Rooms are spacious and well equipped. The bedding (mattresses and pillows) is simply incredible: we slept like babies! Finally, the breakfast was very tasty and copious.

I didn't get to meet the hosts, as we arrived back at the property late in the evening and left early the next morning. However, they were very accomodating by letting us check in early that day to get ready for our wedding. Very close to the Doonbeg Hotel - if you are attending an event there, it is about a 10 minute drive. Lovely view of the sea from the house. The rooms were very warm on what was a cold winter's night in the west of Ireland - so this is a big plus! Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was clean. Breakfast isn't included, but if you are just looking for a bed/room to stay in, then this is very reasonable option for the price. I would happily stay again if in the area.
