Situated in the picturesque village of Leenaun, the Portfinn Lodge offers views of the Maumturks Mountains. The house is on the southern shore of Killary Harbour, in the heart of Connemara. The Portfinn Lodge is set in landscaped gardens with free WiFi in the relaxing guest lounge. The en suite rooms boast views of the sea or mountains. In the mornings, the Portfinn serves a full Irish breakfast. Located within a valley between Devilsmother and Munterowen West Mountains, Leenaun offers views of Ben Gorm across Ireland’s only fjord. The area offers lake and sea fishing, and is ideal for walking and cycling. Activities such as paintball and sea kayaking can be enjoyed at Killary Adventure Centre, a 5-minute drive away.

Portfinn Lodge B&B is located in the picturesque village of Leenane, Co. Galway, overlooking the majestic Killary Fjord – Ireland's only fjord, in the heart of Connemara. Portfinn is a short walk from local restaurants and pubs. The fjord is the only Irish entry in Steve Davy's “Unforgettable Places to see before you Die”. We are ideally located for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way and a perfect base for walking the Western Way. All the rooms are en suite rooms with spectacular views of either Killary Fjord or the Maumturk mountains. Located in the heart of Leenane Village, Portfinn Lodge is an ideal base for touring Connemara and the surrounding areas. Portfinn Lodge is open from 1st February till 30th November.

Leenane is a place of contrasts. Situated at the head of Killary harbour, a 16km Fjord, it nestles under the Maamtrasna and Maamturk mountains on the Galway-Mayo border. The area has been inhabited since prehistory, evinced by ancient tombs and the potato ridges climbing the mountains. Leenane is famous for the stunning and varied beauty of its location. It is this which has been attracting artists, sportsmen, geologists and leisure-seekers for over 150 years. The contrasts of sea and mountains offer vistas alive with colour; the intense green of the hills in summer, the oranges and russets of the autumn mountains, the slate blues of the winter seas. Sheep dot the high hills, roaming wide and free, and salmon can be seen leaping the beautiful Aasleagh falls at the head of the fjord.
