Will not say too much to keep from setting expectations, but...
Will not say too much to keep from setting expectations, but well worth the time. Beware the small parking area off the N71. GPS can be almost worthless. Even if it looks full, check it out; worth waiting for a spot. Spent over an hour crawling all over the site...and it's FREE!!!!

A must see. History is alive in these walls. A great find and worth the time spent. Tree of Life is a must see. A walk back in time to attempt to relive moments when the Abbey was alive with the religious order.

The hotel is amazing, open fires, great atmosphere with old style furniture, sitting areas, bar. Grounds are lovely, I saw some deer. Its worth having a room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good, and had some other meals there as well which were also good.CherrieAustralia

Wonderful breakfast, helpful pleasant front desk staff and restaurant staff. We enjoyed walking into the Killarney National Park Forest from the hotel and visiting Muckross Abbey. A gracious hotel in a delightful quiet location.
