Barrow view was excellent. Clean and comfy. Scrumptious breakfast. Anne was great to chat with and an extreme hostess.

A Georgian town house conveniently located between Main Street and the railway station, Ivyleigh House in Portlaoise offers elegant bed and breakfast accommodation. There is free parking and Wi-Fi and a full Irish breakfast is served.

When first checking in I was presented with the breakfast menu for the following days. It had a variety of options but as I was mostly using public transport I stuck eating cereal. It is also perfectly situated halfway between the train station and the main street, with a multi-story car park and cinema across the street.

This is a lovely house, beautifully finished with great attention to detail. The venue lends itself well to a quiet and peaceful break away from everything. James is a courteous, warm and welcoming host. He went the extra mile to making our stay pleasant, even coming up with excellent suggestions for local restaurants etc.
